Crew Moves: Superhero Stunts

A Workshop for Filmmakers.

Get ready to take on the Marvel-like superhero moves at Argus Filmworks. This is an in-person event where you'll learn how superheroes pull off mind-blowing moves safely and with the guidance of Frank Alfono Jr (known for "Joker", "Gotham", "Only Murders in the Building").

We will meet at Argus Filmworks, an open training facility where productions such as "The Wolf of Wall Street", "21 (and 22) Jump Street", "Enchanted" have trained their stunts.

What To Expect

On Saturday, Feburary 21 we will have a Wire Training for our filmmakers who are usually the ones filming the wire stunts.

Wire Training (or wire work or stunt rigging) is an essential and in-demand skill in the stunt industry, involving a harness and cable system to create controlled, gravity-defying movements.

We will be guided through a dynamic group warm up, have trust based exercises to develop community. Stunt performers also learn to act as safeties for one another, building essential trust within a stunt team.

Our Stunt Coordinator, Frank will walk everyone through basic safety protocols, what to expect when you’re on the wire, and how we work together as a team in this environment. He’ll explain how communication and awareness keep everyone safe throughout the process.

Each attendee will have the opportunity to wear a harness, try out wire movement, and support their fellow production pros, giving a hands-on look on how stunts are safely executed in a controlled setting.

What You Will Need

  • Clothes you can workout in
  • Sneakers
  • Snacks + Water
  • Lunch (we will not be near easily accessible restaurants to order from)

What is Crew Moves?

Crew Moves is a monthly fitness event made for film and tv professionals who need a break from their 12 hour days, unpredictable schedule and constantly revised call sheets.

You don't need to be an athlete to particpate, simply have a desire to move and be surrounded by community members to know what its like to work on set.
