Creative Workshop Invitation: How to Love Our Mothers

For FLINTA women*: Join our workshop on Sunday, March 22, 2026, 4-6 PM (NEW DATE) in Berlin on the topic of “How to Love Our Mothers from Others” at Another Country Bookshop.

Hi everyone :) I'm Maya. Currently, I am questioning whether small, arts-based projects can truly shift power structures, not just narratives, around migration and belonging. Through the lens of daughters in Berlin.
I’m exploring co-created story circles where migrant women can identify concrete injustices to then design and lead micro‑interventions. The aim is to build a playground for how to speak up confidently when faced with discrimination - whether it be from our mothers 💁🏾 or who we perceive as Others .

Event Agenda

  • 4:00-4:20 PM: Welcome circle - Share your story of belonging/exclusion.
  • 4:20-4:50 PM: Pair up for qualitative exchanges on love/rage across divides.
  • 4:50-5:30 PM: Read and react exercise on conflict resolution.
  • 5:30-6:00 PM: Design listening practices; reflect on power/voice.

What to Expect

A brave, FLINTA*-led space blending creative workshops and peer dialogue. No experience needed - bring your lived insights as migrant women, mothers, daughters navigating Berlin's internal/external borders. We can share our strategies for inclusion together :) Hoping to share emotions, laughter, and solidarity with each of you ♡

*FLINTA: Frauen, Lesben, Intergeschlechtliche, Nichtbinäre, Trans, Agender. Prioritizing migrant/BIPOC voices.

*Note: If you're a student or underemployed, you can choose "Donation" as a ticket with sliding scale from €1-€5
