About this Event
GAME LAB is a hands-on, five-day summer camp for high school students interested in game design and programming. Students will learn how games are conceived, designed, and built—from early ideas and paper prototypes to simple digital games. Through guided workshops and small team projects, participants will explore core game mechanics, player experience, basic programming concepts, and iterative design using free game development tools. By the end of the week, students will have designed and built a playable game prototype to share and playtest with others.
LaSalle College Vancouver's Summer Creative Camps offer high school students the opportunity to explore creative careers through five separate, hands-on week-long camps held on our brand-new campus. Each week focuses on a different creative discipline—fashion, culinary arts, game design, graphic and interior design, and filmmaking—allowing students to dive deep into areas that match their interests.
Students are welcome to register for one camp or attend multiple weeks, creating a customized summer experience across different creative fields. Each camp is designed as a standalone program, so no prior experience is required, and skills learned in one week are not prerequisites for another. Each additional camp week is offered at 20% off.
Led by industry-experienced instructors, camps combine workshops, collaborative projects, and guided studio time in professional learning environments. By the end of each week, students will complete a creative project and gain insight into post-secondary pathways in creative industries.
Whether exploring a single passion or sampling multiple disciplines, the Summer Creative Camps at LaSalle College Vancouver provide a fun, immersive, and inspiring experience in a state-of-the-art learning space.
