About this Event
Has this ever been you?
You’re at a networking event and someone asks “What do you do for a living?” Maybe you tense up, nervously wondering how your design gig compares to Bob’s schmancy consulting job, or how your book deal compares to Cathy’s fellowship on the Hill. Or maybe you confidently state ”I’m a creative professional.”
This community is for you
Those of us who live in the nation’s capital who can take our passions and make them into paychecks. We might have different ways of expressing creativity, but we all deal with the same problems: confusing clients, impossible deadlines, and constantly changing career paths. We knew this going into this profession, but what other choice do we have? It sure beats whatever we were doing before. Whether you consider yourself a designer or an artist, a filmmaker or a writer, or something else entirely, our network is made for those who wish to connect with like-minded creative individuals.
Who is considered a “Creative”?
This group is primarily for people with part-time, full-time, or freelance jobs who do creative work for a living. We also welcome students, recent graduates, or career-switchers making their foray into a creative industry. While all artists are valid, this group will have folks who deal with clients, contracts, taxes, etc. If you’d consider yourself more of a hobbyist, we’d suggest you check out other groups, like our friends at Creatives Club DC.
