Inspiring Responses ‘experimental approaches’
The session will allow you to initially explore mindfulness movement meditation inner contemplation, quick drawings and note taking. There will then be the opportunity to make visual response and connection to a figure / model in experimental clothing and a variety of poses. Through a variety of art mediums, exercises and approaches you will explore scale, colour and mark making. The afternoon will be a continuation and development from discoveries and ideas made. As well as an opportunity to develop upon your own personal themes and approaches in the making of developmental pieces / refined artworks.
Sunday 11th February
Inner Self 'creative play'
Beginning the day with some short guided meditation breathing exercises and movement work. Immersion into mark making and using music in a freeing way. A gentle walk around the Hoe to make responses and drawings to our everyday environments and nature. Awareness and thoughts upon the types of materials we use to make work. Time, space and opportunity to mix colours, reflect, write, plan and create, exploring many possibilities and realms of the imagination, making developmental art pieces or piece of work that will hopefully fuel you into further future creative practice.

Fashion Drawing & Movement Illustration
Starting the day with movement exercises into experimental exploratory mark making to music. Drawing from a fashion model in experimental designer clothing to encourage various responses in colour, mixed media, collage, mark making, scale,composition and texture etc.. with guided tuition approaches and an opportunity to develop and encourage working in your own themes and styles. Making experimental drawings and illustrations working with a model through movement. A fun fashion masterclass.
Sunday 14th April
Still Life & Print
Beginning the day with some guided breathing meditation and calming relaxation. Responding to still life objects in a variety of ways possibilities and concepts relating to philosophical, surreal and abstracted approaches through experimental drawing exercises mark making, playing with scale, mixed media and paint and print. Bring flowers as a starting point for inspiration. A portable A3 print press will be taught and available on the day.
Sunday 12th May (includes models)
Life Drawing Day
The day begins with some creative warm up exercises and guided tuition approaches. Structured tutoring in morning with a dedicated life model. Afternoon to develop working from the clothed and unclothed figure in a variety of media and materials. This is a session that would appeal to anyone that is interested in develop life drawing work and builds on my Wednesday evening sessions.
Sunday 9th June
Still Life Exploration ‘ocean theme’
Inspired by Planet Ocean exhibition (at The Box) we will meet at The Box at 10am at the cafe to take inspiration from the gallery. Recording, engaging and responding to the Ocean themed exhibition with various guided approaches and exorcises to encourage focus through note taking drawing and writing. Meet back at st saviours at 12pm for some warm up drawing exercises from a still life set up (bring dried seaweeds, shells and beach stones). Exploring composition, texture, scale, and tone including the surreal and abstraction..etc to continue during the afternoon developing works and incorporating personal themes in mixed media and paint.
ALL MATERIALS PROVIDED
Do bring any favourite art materials, personal sketchbooks, any imagery/ objects to work from (especially relating to the themes of specific sessions).
BRING A PACKED LUNCH TO SESSIONS
Teas and coffees (and biscuits) wioll be provided for free.
COST £45 PER SESSION (I will need a minimum of four people per session for workshops to run - so tell your friends).
