By popular demand, we'll be doing another of Takuma Okada's games on October 6th from 4:30-6PM PST. This time, we'll be doing . You don’t need to buy anything.
After a short sit, we’ll alternate between creating (sketch, paint, write) based on prompts and sharing.
This group is intended to be a creative coalition across differences, with communal belonging in mind. It is not a skills-workshop in a traditional sense. We are here to create and appreciate, not critique.
The creative coalition is dedicated to exploration, mindfulness, and play, and will meet the first Sunday of every month for 90 minutes. We will always begin with community guidelines, followed by a short, lightly-guided meditation of about 10 minutes. Anyone who misses this first part will not be admitted. After the activity, we will conclude with a short reflection on how it went.
Community Guidelines:
- Try it on: Try things out! We’re just playing around.
- Practice Self-Focus: Speak from your own position, not that of a group.
- Practice both/and: Substituting “and” for “but” allows for more realities to co-exist.
- Refrain from blaming or shaming self and others: Skillful speech, yo!
- Practice Mindful Listening: Try not to plan. Listen with your heart.
- Confidentiality: If you want to share something beyond the group, ask first.
- Right to Pass: You never need to share.
- No Comparisons: Everyone’s creation is beautiful because they made it. Including yours.
- No AI: Let yourself play and be analog.
- Lines and veils: If you’re on the fence, give a CW/TW before sharing for us to decide together.

August feedback:
"At first, I was overwhelmed and confused by the mix of structure and freedom. But as we got into 'play,' I realized how empowering this space was. [The community] created a space to be creative and stress-free."
"There was no judgement at all, just love. [...] I really enjoyed how you encouraged us to go outside our comfort zone. Thank you for making the support group I never knew I needed."
