● Science Olympiad.
Overview:
This competition tests participants' knowledge and skills across various scientific disciplines, including Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Math, and General Knowledge. There will be three groups in this competition.
1. Junior (VI – VIII)
2. Secondary(IX-X)
3. Senior (XI-XII)
Guidelines:
𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘛𝘪𝘮𝘦:
▪ Participants should be present in the event hall 15 minutes before the event.
𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘙𝘶𝘭𝘦𝘴:
This is a solo event. Any team activity observed during the Olympiad exam will lead to instant elimination.
Students must bring only pens and calculators(calculators are allowed only for seniors and secondary) to the Olympiad Hall.
There will be different Olympiads for Seniors, Secondary and Juniors:
✔ Seniors: Physics Olympiad, Chemistry Olympiad, Biology Olympiad, and Math Olympiad.
✔ Secondary: Physics Olympiad, Chemistry Olympiad, Biology Olympiad, and Math Olympiad.
✔ Juniors: General Math Olympiad, and General Science Olympiad.
𝘖𝘭𝘺𝘮𝘱𝘪𝘢𝘥 𝘍𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘵:
▪ Each Olympiad will consist of 30 questions, and each question will be worth 2 marks.
▪ The duration of each Olympiad will be 1 hour, allowing participants to answer all 30 questions.
▪ For Seniors, we recommend practising conventional Olympiad questions, which do not include one-word answers and multiple-choice questions (MCQs).
▪ For Secondary level and Juniors, we recommend practising one-word answers, brief questions, and MCQ questions.
𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘶𝘭𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘞𝘪𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘴:
▪ All results will be calculated based on the procedure (for seniors) and answers provided.
▪ The results will determine the winners, runners-up, and second runners-up for this event.
𝘙𝘦𝘨𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯:
▪ No registration is required for the event. However, participants must write their name, contact, college ID, class, and institution name on the Olympiad exam paper.

● Project Expo.
Overview:
Our project showcase event “Project Expo” is exclusively for working science projects that demonstrate a deep understanding of scientific principles and offer creative solutions to real-world problems. Participants will have the opportunity to present their projects to a panel of judges and receive valuable feedback on their work. This is a great opportunity to demonstrate your scientific knowledge and showcase your project. There will be three groups in this competition.
1. Junior (VI – VIII)
2. Secondary(IX-X)
3. Senior (XI-XII)
Guidelines:
𝘛𝘦𝘢𝘮 𝘍𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘛𝘪𝘮𝘦:
▪ Each team must consist of 3 members.
▪ The team can be mixed up with students from different classes, but they must be within the same group (senior or junior).
▪ Participants must bring the necessary items like tape, multi-plug, scissors, etc., on their own.
▪ Participants must report to the registration booth within the reporting time and set up their project.
𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘚𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘥𝘶𝘭𝘦:
▪ The first day is only for project submission and set up, no showcase will happen on the first day.
▪ The second day will be dedicated to showcasing the projects throughout the day.
▪ The judging will take place on the following day.
𝘗𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘙𝘦𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴:
▪ All participants must carry the event ID card along with their institution's ID card during the event.
▪ Food will be provided during this segment.

▪ After the judging, it is the responsibility of the participants to take back their project with them from the organizers.
▪ A chart displaying the project details must be displayed. The outline of the chart should include a Description, Working Principle, Advantages and Disadvantages, Applications in Real Life, Future Scopes

The Wall Magazine Showcase at the Science Carnival is a creative platform that encourages students to display their scientific understanding through informative wall magazines. There will be three groups in this competition.

This competition challenges teams to build a bridge that can support the most weight and withstand the most stress. There will be three groups in this competition.
1. Junior (VI – VIII)
2. Secondary(IX-X)
3. Senior (XI-XII)
Guidelines:
𝘛𝘦𝘢𝘮 𝘍𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘛𝘪𝘮𝘦:
▪ Each team must consist of 3 members.
▪ All participants must arrive 15 minutes before the start of the event.
▪ The team can be composed of students from different classes or different institutes, but they must fall within the group limit (senior, secondary or junior).
𝘗𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘙𝘦𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴:
▪ All participants must carry the event ID card along with their institution's ID card during the event.
▪ Food will be provided during this segment.
𝘉𝘳𝘪𝘥𝘨𝘦 𝘉𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘎𝘶𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴:
▪ Each team will be given 5 hours to build their bridge.
▪ Teams will be provided with 300 popsicle sticks and fevicol MR.(using superglue, epoxy glue, or hot glue is prohibited)
▪ The length of the bridge should be between 16 and 24 inches.
▪ The height of the bridge should be between 4 and 5 inches.
▪ The width of the bridge should be from 4 to 5 inches.
▪ The overlapping of popsicle sticks should not exceed 1 cm.
▪ The deck of the bridge should be clear with no blockages.
𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘶𝘭𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘞𝘪𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘴:
▪ The points of a bridge will be calculated based on the weight the bridge can hold divided by the weight of the bridge itself.
▪ The results will determine the winning team.
𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘚𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘥𝘶𝘭𝘦:
▪ The first day of the event will be dedicated to building the bridges, taking up most of the day.
▪ The judging will take place on the second day.

Overview:
This showcase features a collection of visually stunning and accurate 3D scientific models, representing complex concepts and phenomena in creative and engaging ways. There will be three groups in this competition.
1. Junior (VI – VIII)
2. Secondary(IX-X)
3. Senior (XI-XII)
Guidelines:
𝘛𝘦𝘢𝘮 𝘍𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘛𝘪𝘮𝘦:
▪ Each team can consist of up to 3 members.
▪ All participants must arrive 15 minutes before the event.
𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘋𝘦𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘭𝘴:
▪ The first day is a submission for the 3D models. As they can be fragile, they will take time to set up.
▪ The exhibition will be a day-long showcase.
▪ Models can be based on various scientific concepts.
▪ The models must be non-working (should not be a prototype).
▪ Prohibited materials for the models include glitters, stones, flammable components, and sharp objects. 3D printing and machine crafting cannot be used. The 3D models must be handcrafted.
▪ The team can be composed of students from different classes or different institutes, but they must fall within the group (senior or junior).
▪ Competitors must submit a complete model and cannot modify their models after submission.
𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘚𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘥𝘶𝘭𝘦::
▪ The first day will be dedicated to showcasing the models throughout the day.
▪ The judging will take place on the following day.
𝘔𝘰𝘥𝘦𝘭 𝘚𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴:
▪ Models cannot exceed a weight of 8 Kg.
▪ The maximum dimensions for the models are 24 inches in length, width, and height.

Overview:
This debate competition requires participants to debate through arguments and defend their scientific stances on controversial topics. There will be one group in this competition.
1. Senior (XI-XII)

Guidelines:
𝘛𝘦𝘢𝘮 𝘍𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘛𝘪𝘮𝘦:
▪ Each team must consist of 3 members: a "Scientist," an "Assistant Scientist," and an "Informant."
▪ Participants will be called to the event room 30 minutes before the scheduled time.
Speech Delivery and Conclusion:
▪ Scientists and Assistant Scientists will have 4 minutes each to deliver their speeches individually.
▪ One Scientist will have 1 minute to conclude the debate.
𝘗𝘢𝘱𝘦𝘳 𝘚𝘶𝘣𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯:
▪ All teams must submit a review paper with citations. While writing, try to define clear focus and scope, use a structured outline with a Serif font, avoid plagiarism, add relevant info-graphics and images, and adhere to ethics.

Paper Grading and Selection:
▪ All submitted papers will be graded on a scale of 10.
▪ The teams with the highest scores will be selected to participate in the Debate competition.
▪ Participants who did not make it through the paper selection round can participate in other segments/events.
𝘋𝘦𝘣𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘍𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘛𝘰𝘱𝘪𝘤𝘴:
▪ The team representing the topic and the opposing team will be selected through a small quiz.
▪ The event will follow a knockout format.
▪ Topics or cases will be given to the teams 20 minutes before the competition.
▪ Teams must research and present their arguments based on the given case.
▪ No questions will be asked in the first 2 rounds, but the judges will question the scientists in the final round after their logical arguments.

Overview:
This competition challenges participants to pitch a scientific theory or concept to a panel of judges and a live audience. Contestants must present their pitch in a clear, concise, and engaging way, while also demonstrating a deep understanding of the scientific principles behind their idea with the help of multimedia presentation. Judges will evaluate each pitch based on its scientific accuracy, creativity, slide quality, and overall presentation. There will be two groups in this competition.

Guidelines:
𝘗𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘙𝘦𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴:
▪ This event is open to solo participants.
▪ All participants must arrive in the event room at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start time.
▪ All participants must carry the event ID card along with their institution's ID card during the event.
𝘙𝘦𝘨𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘗𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯:
▪ During registration, participants will choose one topic from the list of ideas, participants should only submit one presentation related to one of these ideas.

▪ Participants are required to create a PowerPoint presentation of a maximum of 10 slides on their selected topic.
▪ The presentation file must be submitted via email in the registration form.
𝘗𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘍𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘵:
▪ Each participant will be given 5 minutes to present their topic.
▪ Following the presentation, there will be a Q&A session with the judges.
▪ Participants should limit their presentation to a maximum of 10 slides.
𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘶𝘭𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘞𝘪𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘴:
▪ The winners and runners-up will be determined based on several judgment categories, including slide quality, research, verbal presentation skills, and audience engagement.

Overview:
This art showcase encourages participants to create digital art pieces that showcase scientific concepts and phenomena in creative and visually appealing ways. There will be two groups in this competition.

Guidelines:
𝘗𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘎𝘶𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴:
▪ This event is open to solo participants.
▪ Each participant is allowed to submit up to 3 digital artworks(artworks must be of standard A3 size).
▪ If a participant has more than 3 artworks, they can choose to register all of them or select one for the event.
▪ The selected artworks will be printed and showcased throughout the premises in MCPSC during the Carnival.
𝘐𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴:
▪ Participants must take responsibility for collecting their artwork from the organizers after the event.
▪ It is strictly prohibited to use AI image generators or engage in any unfair activities such as plagiarism or idea theft. Participants found violating these rules will be disqualified.
▪ Participants are to submit a PDF and Ai or PSD (or similar compatible format) file of the artwork
𝘈𝘳𝘵𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬 𝘚𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯:
▪ Participants have to upload the files in the registration form. After that, we will select your artwork and mail you back with further payment details and rules.
▪ Finalized artworks will be communicated to participants through email.
▪ Participants must reply to the email, confirming their participation and providing the transaction ID of the payment made through bKash (including the amount).
▪ Participants should include this information in the return mail along with their selected artwork(s).
𝘑𝘶𝘥𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘊𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘢:
▪ Artworks will be evaluated to get the winners, runners-up, and second runners-up based on colour combination, content message, creativity, and visual appeal.

Overview:
A hackathon is an intensive, collaborative event that brings together individuals with deductive skills to work on solving problems or creating innovative solutions. Typically lasting for a few hours, hackathons foster creativity, teamwork, and rapid prototyping. Hackathons provide a unique platform for individuals to come together, unleash their creativity, and work towards finding solutions to real-world problems, all within a condensed time frame and with the support of a like-minded community. There will be two groups in this competition.

Guidelines:
𝘗𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘎𝘶𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴:
▪ Each participant must register individually for this event.
▪ Participants will be assigned to a room with other unknown participants and will need to form a group of 3 members on the spot.
𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘦 𝘋𝘦𝘴𝘤𝘳𝘪𝘱𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯:
▪ The assigned room will be locked with a conventional lock, and participants will need to find the key to unlock it.
▪ Each room will be provided with 5 data sheets and a manual for C Programming code (for seniors) or a math sheet (for secondary).
▪ Participants must work together as a group to analyze the data and solve the given problem, creating a presentable report on a single A3 paper.
▪ In addition to the report, participants must also search for hidden codes within the room using various cyphers such as Morse code, Caesar Cipher, Book cypher, and rail fence cypher.
▪ The rooms will have 15 to 24 participants, and if any team in a room discovers the key before completing their presentation, the entire room will be disqualified.
▪ The rooms will be locked for 2 hours, and failure to find the key within this time will result in disqualification.
𝘌𝘷𝘢𝘭𝘶𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘑𝘶𝘥𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘨:
▪ The winners and runners-up will be determined based on the quality of their presentation/report, including factors such as creativity, technical implementation, impact, and usability.
▪ Additionally, the time required to find the key and successfully escape the room will be considered in the evaluation process.
