Ever wanted to make a portrait that feels like a movie still, a scrapbook, and a secret message all at once?In this workshop, artist Emmaline Zanelli (National Photographic Portrait Prize 2025 finalist) will show you how to create layered photographic artworks inspired by her darkroom-based portrait process, but using fun, accessible materials.
You’ll:
- take your own photos
- print them using mini thermal printing cameras
- build layers using collage + found imagery
- experiment with coloured gels to change the mood and vibe
- laminate your finished work
This is for tweens and teens (12–20) who like photography, art, design, zines, stickers, albums, edits, or just making things that look cool. No pressure, no perfectionism. Just experimenting, making, and leaving with an artwork that’s completely yours.
Ages: 12–20
Cost: $15 - see ticketing link to register
