Dorset Buttons are one of many examples of decoration being used to enhance the clothing of working people. Memories of learning from her grandmother led Kate to develop the Brassington Button. It is a smaller, decorative brooch version, named after the village she was living in at the time. Based on a brass rung, the button uses simple threading to create a (usually) floral design. No special skills are needed: you will learn all you need to know – though being confident in using a needle and thread will be helpful. Also, you will be working on a small ring.£5.00 donation, made at the venue at the session.
