Eventbrite has just recently changed its free policy on event capacity. If you have the means please choose a donation ticket as opposed to a free ticket when booking, to allow people on a low income to attend the event. Crafting & Stretching is a workshop by Craft Forward and Rosmunda Avagliano that blends craft and movement therapy. The session starts like a relaxed and welcoming knitting and crochet group, open to beginners and experienced makers to come together, connect, learn more about the craft and its radical history. Makers will be producing knitted and crocheted squares to go towards the “Blankets for London” project.
“Blankets for London” is Craft Forward’s seasonal project where we assemble blankets to donate to unhoused individuals in London through our partner charities.
The second part of the session will be a gentle streatching session led by our chartered physiotherapist Rosmunda Avagliano. Tailored to all levels of ability and all bodies, this session aims to improve physical well-being, flexibility, and balance.
Crafting & Stretching is open to anyone interested in approaching crafting and physical activity art for the first time.
What to bring: wear comfy clothes for the stretching, all knitting and crochet materials are provided! If you are an experienced knitter please bring your own knitting needles (and spare yarn if you have any); if you are a beginner, come along and we will help you start your knitting journey! If you're a crocheter, come with your favourite hook, or you can borrow one from us!
