Crafternoons celebrate our communities with actions that slow us down in a world that is speeding up. Though we are moving towards brighter times of the year, building communities and practicing slowness is more important than ever.
When weaving together it is not only the threads getting intertwined but possibly also human relations through the working hands.
This Crafternoon we invite for a collective weaving session where our guest host will speak about her relationship with her grandmother and how weaving together brought them closer.
The weave was the first computer ever made. Computers were supposed to free time for us to spend with our close ones. However the opposite seems to be happening as we cut human relations out with no real living humans behind the counter and no eye contact with the person delivering our dinners that could almost be made by an alien.
In this Crafternoon we ask how weaving can help us to regain our relationships and remind us why they are important.
Bring some yarn/piece of fabric/old t-shirt for a common bundle of material we will weave from.
As always we will be in Bybi where there is coffee and tea but snacks are much welcome.
Bring a friend or loved one.
