Yeehaw! Get ready for a night of fun and excitement at our Country Night fundraiser! Join us on Fri Apr 11 2025 at 19:30 at the Tolka Rovers Sports Complex for a great time while supporting a great cause. Dust off your cowboy boots and hats for a night of social line dancing where various line dances will be taught to you on the night. All proceeds will go towards my volunteer mission to Tanzania with the DCU Pre-Primary Education Project helping to provide education for children in need. This project involves myself, and five other dedicated students from DCU, travelling to the city of Morogoro, located in the eastern part of Tanzania in July 2025. Our mission is to collaborate with local pre-primary teachers, contribute to their ongoing professional development, help them establish impactful learning activities, and most importantly, to enrich the learning experience of the children in these communities. This aligns with the Tanzanian pre-primary education policy, which we believe can be significantly enhanced with our contribution.
As a volunteer, I am looking forward to putting my knowledge to use, preparing invaluable teaching materials and creating interactive learning activities for the children. But this journey requires financial assistance, and that's where your help is appreciated! The goal for this fundraiser is to help raise money towards €3000 target. This will cover all the necessary travel costs, vaccines, and resources that will equip these classrooms for future teaching and learning experiences.
I will be travelling in early July 2025 where volunteering will take place among numerous schools in the Morogoro region. Along with myself and the five other students, we will be travelling with three lecturers from DCU who have been working on this project over the last 5 years. They have worked closely with teachers in Tanzania by providing them with resources, valuable teaching methods, building new classrooms for the children and overall providing many opportunities for less fortunate children in Tanzania.
