Join the company classes of ICK and train together with the ICK ensemble (only for professional dancers and dance students).
Countertechnique is a dance method that helps dancers to think with their bodies and convert information into action using a set of tools (toolbox) and a process of “scanning”. The technique trains the body to move in a larger, more fluid and more spatial way by establishing a dynamic, constantly changing balance with counter-movements in different parts of the body. This makes dancers stronger, more flexible and more efficient in their movements, preparing them for rehearsals and performances.
“Countertechnique is a practice where I can engage in endless joy, challenge, and liberation from both a physical and psychological perspective. Every moment is distinct from the last - in life and in dance. The ever changing context of our world and our (dance) lives is acknowledged through Countertechnique and the autonomy it encourages. I am so very happy to get to live and share the joy of dance through this practice.”
