About this Event

Join us for a relaxed, friendly free session designed for parents and carers of babies aged 0-12 months.
You’ll meet other families, enjoy a meal together, and take part in short, practical sessions led by trained family wellbeing workers.

This event focuses on three key topics from our My First 1000 Days programme:

Coping with Stress

  • Learn what stress is, the different types of stress parents experience, and how stress affects the body, mood, and relationships.
  • Explore practical strategies for immediate relief and long‑term stress prevention, including breathing exercises, relaxation techniques, and personal self‑care planning.

Understanding Self - Care

  • Explore what self‑care means and the different types of self‑care (physical, emotional, social, rest‑based) with examples tailored to different needs, abilities, and lifestyles.
  • Share simple, realistic self‑care practices and identify individual self‑care needs and preferred activities.

What’s included

  • Expert-led group session
  • Meet other parents and carers
  • Free lunch
  • Small gift for your and your baby
  • Babies welcome!

This session is part of our My First 1000 Days series. Each event is a oneoff — come to as many as you like.

About the research

These sessions are part of the My First 1000 Days study run by the University of Leeds.

After registering, a Family Wellbeing Worker will get in touch to talk about the session, check eligibility, and discuss any needs you might have.

By signing up, you agree that a member of the University of Leeds research team may contact you to explain the research element of the project and answer any questions you may have. Taking part in the research is completely optional.

You’ll be invited to sign the consent form when you arrive.
Taking part in the research (sharing your feedback at the end) is completely voluntary.

Whether or not you choose to share feedback, you can:
✅ Attend the session
✅ Enjoy the lunch or refreshments
✅ Receive your baby’s gift

Your choice will not affect what you receive or how you’re treated in any way.
