Looking for a way to take action for farmed animals? Join me for this outreach event to raise awareness of chicken welfare!
The mission of The Humane League UK (THL UK) is to end the abuse of all animals raised for food and we need your help to make it happen! I volunteer for THL UK, you can find out more about their work by watching their Year in Review video here.
If you are passionate about this cause, I would love for you to join me for this public outreach event which is all about raising awareness of factory farmed chickens, and encouraging Co-op to sign up to the Better Chicken Commitment.
What the event will involve:
We will meet outside Co-op at 11am on Saturday 11th May - I will provide my number once you sign up to come along and you can call me if you get lost! This store is in Manchester city centre. There is a tram stop nearby (Shudehill), for those coming from Manchester, or arriving in Manchester Picadilly station. The store is also only a short walk from Manchester Victoria train station.
When everyone arrives I will introduce myself and tell you a bit more about THL UK. Then we’ll start our outreach! All materials are provided, so just wear suitable clothing for the weather.
We’ll be handing out information about chicken welfare, and encouraging positive conversations amongst the public.
We will also have actions for members of the public to take against the supermarket, if they wish to.
At the end we can go grab some vegan food together if people are up for it
This event is open to anyone who believes in our mission: to end the abuse of all animals raised for food. You do not need to be a current volunteer or affiliated with THL UK in any way, everyone is welcome. You don’t have to be vegan to attend this event.
We’ve picked a site we believe to be accessible for wheelchair users but if you would like to double check your accessibility needs please contact the organiser, who will be happy to help.
