Dr. Bruce Main on January 6th at our campus in Room 103, 12 - 1:20 PM.


To follow-up after Bruce's presentation, there is "Fireside Chat" Q&A with Dr. Bruce & Pamela Main moderated Kenton MacDonald-Lin.


ABOUT: Dr. Bruce Main
The founder and president of and , Bruce Main began with a small summer camp in the city of Camden, New Jersey in 1988 at the age of 25.
Today, his work and vison continue as the visionary creator of in the U.S., Canada, Honduras, Colombia, United Kingdom, Malawi, Uganda, Liberia, Nigeria, and Kenya.
Bruce is an inspirational speaker and leader.
He and the work of UrbanPromise are featured regularly on US & international media such as highlighted on Diane Sawyer’s 20/20 special “Waiting on the World to Change” and CBC’s
Bruce is an author of inspirational books that motivate young people to reflect deeply and make a difference.
His legacy and vision continue in building leadership for the next generation and for the world by working with his partners to create a very successful " progam. Students can receive an organizational leadership certification or leadership master's while interning with UrbanPromise International.



ABOUT OUR CONVERSATIONS WITH CHANGEMAKERS EVENTS:
As part of the value-added experience of attending Corpus Christi-St. Mark's College at the University of British Columbia, we are committed to providing our students with opportunities early in their university experience to learn from the perspectives of learned, focused leaders of conscience. The Conversations with Change Makers series will encourage our students to learn from the experiences of others across a range of professional, service and philanthropic backgrounds.
In a Q & A format, the following topics will be addressed by the speaker
  • The importance of leaving a legacy
  • Moments that shaped their lives
  • Drive and Motivation - pathways to their success
  • Key advice to support others in making change happen
  • Leadership - challenges and opportunities
  • What they wished they knew at your age

The Conversations with Changemakers series brings thought leaders, distinguished academics and industry experts together with students who are committed to the highest goals of lifelong learning.
Speakers can share their experience, passion, and vision directly with students. Students are able to ask questions and learn first-hand from change makers who are recognized for contributions to their communities and the world.
