About this Event
Join us for the launch of the exhibition catalogue, celebrating the first institutional presentation of Venezuelan artist Cassandra Mayela Allen. This new publication expands on the themes of the exhibition, which situates Mayela Allen’s collaboration‑driven practice within a dialogue with modernist and informalist movements across Latin America, drawing connections to mid‑century artistic experimentation shaped by social and political realities.
Designed by Isabel Urbina, the catalogue brings together new texts by Fabiola R. Delgado, Carlos Nuñez, Alexander Chaparro, and Jesús Torrivilla. Their contributions explore the sociohistorical landscape of Venezuelan art, the tactile and symbolic dimensions of Mayela Allen’s materials, the centrality of the embrace in her practice, and include a conversation with the artist.
Join us to mark this occasion with community, conversation, and an intimate look into the ideas shaping Aquel Amplex.
