Whether you’ve danced for years or have two left feet, this is your invitation to jump in.Enjoy LIVE, driving old-time music from Hard Pressed, straight out of the North Fork Valley, with expert calling by John Unger, who will guide every dance clearly and confidently.
Doors at 6:30 pm || Learn the Basics (recommended!) 7 pm || Live Music and Dance @ 7:30 pm || $20 entry (capacity is limited, so advance ticket purchases are highly recommended!)
What Is Contra Dance?
Contra is a vibrant American folk dance rooted in European traditions and shaped by generations of community gatherings. Dancers form long lines or sets of four couples and move through a series of repeating figures—all prompted by a live caller.
No partner? No problem.
No experience? Even better.
Every dance is taught, and the 7:00 PM beginner lesson will give you everything you need to feel comfortable on the floor.
