About this Event

For copperplate calligraphers who want to go deeper! This class is designed for students who already understand the basics of copperplate and want to expand their knowledge, refine their technique, and explore historical variations of this elegant script.

In this class, you will:

Study a variety of traditional copperplate styles, analyzing the differences in letterforms, spacing, and overall feel.
Learn to dissect and recreate historical scripts, gaining insight into the finer details of copperplate’s evolution.
Refine your strokes and control, mastering the subtleties of pressure and release for a polished, professional look.
Work toward developing your own variations, using historical styles as inspiration.

If you’ve completed Beginning Copperplate or have previous experience with the script, this class will help you expand your skills and take your copperplate to new heights!

WHO: This class is designed for adults and mature adolescents.

PREREQUISITE: Beginning Copperplate OR at least 2 months' study of copperplate.

WHERE: Online via Zoom.

(LIVE interactive online workshop, 12 students maximum)

RECORDINGS: Available for review for an extended period.

WHEN: This class includes 8 weekly lessons,

on Mondays, March 24 through May 12, 2025,

from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm Eastern Time.
