About this Event
Working in silver and base metals such as copper, you’ll learn a wide range of jewellery-making skills, from foundational techniques like piercing, filing, soldering and roller pressing to more advanced processes. These include ring and chain making, box construction, stone setting, wax carving, sand casting, folding and scoring, and cuttlefish casting. With guidance and support, you’ll build confidence in the workshop while developing your own creative ideas.
You’ll also be encouraged to research and experiment with additional techniques, allowing you to expand your skills and shape your own unique approach to making.
This course is suitable for beginners and improvers.
The workshop is a large creative space and not purpose-built, the emphasis is on creativity and experimentation as well as developing technical skills.
For safety purposes avoid exposed arms and legs, man made fibres, open toe sandals and high heels as we use flame torches, hammers and machinery.
A limited amount of copper will be supplied and advice will be given on the purchase of silver (you do not necessarily need to purchase silver).
