Welcome this friday evening in Ghent for our 2-weekly contactimpro friday jam. We meet into dance, joining an open, mixed level jam space to train, explore and celebrate the practice of contact improvisation.
doors open & arriving at 19h
guided warmup at 19h30,
followed by an open jam space
alternating hosts who facilitate the space
contribution:
NEW sliding scale: 10 - 20€
(This contribution is needed for the studio cost and much appreciated by the hosts who lovingly facilitate. If you have financial difficulty to reach the minimum amount, contribute what is possible for you)
👉 ABOUT A CONTACT IMPRO JAM
● a jam is a co-responsibility space to dance, train, deepen and celebrate the practice of contact improvisation (CI)
(it is not a class)
● CI starts from the exploration of physical laws and forces while moving through space, in physical contact with someone else, sharing and carrying weight along the way
● all levels of experience are welcome
● there is no fixed rhythm or music style. The focus is on the connection/communication/rhythm with our dancepartner. We dance and co-create with music ánd with silence
● dancing can happen in duo's, trio's, alone or with the whole space and group
● dances can last short or long
● when a dance partner leaves, my dance doesn't need to end, it can continue its flow,
transform and find new chapters
● whenever you feel stuck: take a step, and the next one will find its way 😊
● a contact improvisation jam is not a sexual or tantric oriented space. Let's keep the dance the focus!
