Tijdens de 𝗩𝗿𝗶𝗷𝗱𝗮𝗴𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻 presenteren we 9 weken lang een programma rond één of meerdere kunstenaars, een collectief of organisatie.
Audiovisueel kunstenaar en curator Firas El Hallak transformeert het paviljoen van Kunsthal Gent in een oase van diepe rust en gedeelde aandacht met The Dome Sessions. Tijdens deze vrijdagavond geeft hij een inkijk in zijn werk en proces tijdens een open gesprek met kunsthistoricus Sara Mondini.
Deze artist talk biedt de kans om dieper in het werk te duiken: van de oorsprong in de onvoltooide 'Dome' in Tripoli tot de transformatie naar een plek voor luisteren en samenwerking. We verkennen de vragen over herinnering, architectuur en geluid die door het werk verweven zijn. Na het ervaren van de installatie creëert dit gesprek ruimte om samen te reflecteren: hoe voelt de ruimte aan, wat roept het op en welke verhalen draagt het met zich mee?
Firas zal vertellen over het proces achter The Dome Sessions: van de opnames in de akoestisch unieke koepel tot het vertalen van die sessies naar een audiovisuele omgeving in Kunsthal Gent. Het gesprek gaat daarna over in een Q&A, waarbij bezoekers worden uitgenodigd om hun indrukken, nieuwsgierigheid en vragen te delen.

Audiovisual artist and curator Firas El Hallak transforms the Kunsthal Gent pavilion into an oasis of deep tranquility and shared attention with The Dome Sessions. During this Friday evening, he will provide insight into his work and process during an open conversation with art historian Sara Mondini.
This gathering offers a chance to step deeper into the work, its origins in the unfinished Dome in Tripoli, its transformation into a space of listening and collaboration, and the questions of memory, architecture, and sound that run through it. After experiencing the installation, this talk creates room to reflect together: how does the space feel, what does it evoke, and what stories does it carry?
Firas will speak about the process behind The Dome Sessions, from recording in the acoustically unique Dome to translating those sessions into an audiovisual environment at Kunsthal. The conversation will open into a Q&A, inviting visitors to share their impressions, curiosities, and questions.

En we stellen kunstenaars centraal waar Kunsthal Gent momenteel mee samenwerkt. Iedere vrijdagavond is anders: van talks en filmvertoningen tot gesprekken, queer readings en manifesten.
