Susan Homar is a Puerto Rican dance scholar, critic, and educator, and a retired professor at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras. She has written extensively on contemporary and experimental dance in Puerto Rico and previously worked as a dance critic for major newspapers on the island. Homar is co-editor of Inhabiting the Impossible: Dance and Experimentation in Puerto Rico (2023), a landmark volume documenting the island’s dance history. Her work explores the intersections of performance, identity, and cultural history.
