Connexion is back! Join us as we continue to build our Chicago Contact Beyond Contact + Ecstatic Dance events! We are so incredibly excited to welcome you with open arms into a deeper connection to self, one another, and space through the practice and embodiment of dance. We will be artfully weaving embodiment, contact dance practices, and Alina's shamanic energy, beats, and musical genius into an evening of discovery, depth, creativity, exploration, play, and healing. We will be hosting this event regularly throughout the Chicagoland area and will change the energy of the practice and music based upon the unique location. As the weather begins to shift, let us continue meeting together to stay in deep connection and community. 🔥
.
Dance is an ancient healing modality that occupies a place of movement, energy, balance, worship, desire, prayer, sensation, trance, and more. Our ancestors danced to engage in ritual, healing, connection, and celebration and when we dance, we remember. We remember how it feels to be alive, to move, to create, to play, to shapeshift, to connect, to experience life, to release old stories and patterns, and to find our authentic self. Dance helps us connect with our bodies, connect with space, connect with others, and connect with the divine.
.
*CBC is a Dance and Healing practice to discover your true inner voice, to create honest and genuine connections with other people, and find a clear enlightened purpose in life. CBC integrates Authentic Movement (AM), Contact Improvisation (CI), Passing Through (PT) with profound practices and philosophies such as qigong, yoga, healing modalities, principles of behaviourism, mindfulness, leadership skills, Buddhism, Hinduism and Taoism and all human senses for a holistic integration of the body, mind, heart and spirit.

Alina is a multidimensional artist, intentional tattooer, past life journeying guide and musician. She’s been working with sound for over 6 years through different modalities as DJing, producing, using instruments and voice. Her studies, time with plant medicines, and sitting with elders allowed her to gain an understanding of the body’s energy systems and sound as a vibration. She focuses on bringing ancient traditions and wisdom into a sacred ritual of skin marking and using it as a healing modality. Her mission is empowering and assisting in healing through her offerings.
Matthew is an embodiment alchemist weaving breath, visualization, movement, shamanic practice, reiki, somatics, embodiment, and dance into all he does. He hosts regular men’s circles, contact beyond contact dance practices, shamanic journeys, retreats, and community embodiment endeavors in Chicago, Indiana, and around the world. He gently and artfully guides others into connecting with the deepest parts of themselves to heal, grow, and transform so they can navigate the world and bring about change in their fullest truth and authenticity.
