Connecting with Communities Office Hours

WM, formerly Waste Management, will hold Connecting with Communities office hours in Akron, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Monday, November 18th and Wednesday, December 11th at the Joy Park Community Center, 825 Fuller Street, Akron, OH 44306. During this time, residents will have the opportunity to discuss and learn more about the proposed WM Akron Eco-Center project.

WM has proposed an approximate $20 million capital investment in a new, state-of-the-art Eco-Center, with the ability to serve the growing, waste and recycling needs of the area. This new facility will include operational improvements such as a new refuse and recycling transfer station, truck scales, a hauling site, a maintenance shop, a small office, and a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) fueling station. This new operation is designed to support the cultivation of streamlined waste collection services in the area, optimizing routing and disposal solutions for users, with the ability to better serve the surrounding community and the City of Akron.
