This event will bring professionals and community members together to share ideas, resources, and support for better mental health outcomes. Don't miss this opportunity to connect, learn, and collaborate for a healthier community!

The British Bangladeshi Psychiatrists Association (BBPA) Annual Conference 2024 is inspired by the success of last year’s conference at the Royal College of Psychiatrists (RCPsych), where community engagement emerged as a key theme. The discussions emphasized the pivotal role of communities in addressing mental health challenges, especially within underserved populations.

Building on those insights, this year’s conference, Bridging Professionals & Communities for Better Mental Health Care, is dedicated to advancing this dialogue and implementing practical steps to enhance community involvement in mental health services. We are honoured to have Rt Hon Liam Byrne MP, Prof. Ramalingam Chithiramohan, Prof. Piyal Sen, and District Judge Michelle Smith join us for these critical discussions, underscoring the significance of collaboration across professional fields in mental health initiatives.

By focusing on collaboration between psychiatrists, legal professionals, and community leaders, the event will explore strategies to improve mental health care delivery, reduce stigma, and promote mental health literacy at the grassroots level.

The conference aims to foster meaningful partnerships that can bridge the gaps between formal healthcare services and community-based initiatives, ensuring more accessible and culturally sensitive mental health support.
