Title of series: Cardiac surgery clinical care issues: Specialty training for nurses and allied healthcare professionals

Session #1: October 14, 2024

Session #2: November 14, 2024

Session #3: December 11, 2024

Join us for three engaging online events where we will dive deep into the latest clinical care issues in cardiac surgery. This masterclass series is designed for nurses and allied healthcare professionals (NAPs) looking to enhance their knowledge and skills in this specialized field. This series is free and is sponsored by Medtronic. We particularly welcome cardiac surgery NAPs from low-middle income countries.

This inaugural CONNECT masterclass series is made up of 3 sessions. The first session will provide an update on cardiac surgery techniques, as well as a discussion on the role of nurses and allied professionals in providing pre- and post-op cardiac surgical care. The second session will include a discussion and critical assessment of clinical case scenarios on post-operative complications experienced during the in-hospital recovery period. The series will conclude with presentations on access to and assessment guidelines for cardiac rehabilitation.

Format for each session:

EACH session will include a number of pre-recorded videos, followed by a mini online quiz, and a virtual question and answer (Q&A) session hosted by CONNECT members.

The pre-recorded videos will be provided to attendees 2 weeks in advance of the online Q&A. Once participants have viewed the pre-recorded videos, they will then be required to complete a mini quiz consisting of 10 questions. A score of greater than 70% (7 out of 10) will need to be obtained to participate in the virtual Q&A session. Each Q&A session will focus on a discussion of the practice challenges and research implications related to the content discussed in the pre-recorded videos.

At the END of the 3rd Masterclass session, participants will receive a certificate of completion.

Don't miss this opportunity to connect with experts in the field, learn new strategies, and stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in cardiac surgery clinical care. Register now to secure your spot!
