About this Event

Why this class

Confident English helps adults build real-world speaking and writing skills. Sessions are CLB-informed (task-based, clear functions, simple rubrics) and shaped by a quick needs assessment. Ideal for work, school, services—without the formality of a government program.

Note: We align to CLB practices and PBLA-style tasks but do not issue government-funded certificates. CELPIP/IELTS Readiness cohorts are planned for the near future.

What you’ll do
  • Conversation Café :
Practical topics (introductions at work, appointments, small talk → requests/opinions). Fluency building + functional language you can use the same day.
  • Writing Boost :
Short workplace/student texts—emails, forms, notes, simple reports. Templates, clarity, punctuation/capitalization, and quick corrections.

Session type is set by majority preference collected at checkout (Conversation Café or Writing Boost). If the group is mixed, we run a hybrid: ~45 min conversation + ~45 min writing.

Who it’s for
  • Adults around CLB 2–6 (we group by range when possible).
  • Newcomers and professionals who want confidence in meetings, calls, and emails.
  • Learners who may try CELPIP/IELTS later but want solid skills first.

Class format (each session)
  1. Warm-up & function of the day (5–10 min)
  2. Task A (pair/small-group speaking or writing)
  3. Task B (apply + coach feedback)
  4. Personal mini-goal & take-home tip
