Please join us for the last performance of our 2025-2026 Concerts at the Crane Series, an afternoon of Broadway cabaret with soprano Jean Danton and pianist Luke Molloy.
Jean Danton, Soprano/Equity Actor, is thrilled to be performing again in the beautiful Richardson Room on this wonderful concert series and happy to sing with her dear friend and wonderful pianist, Luke Molloy. Jean has appeared as a soloist throughout the United States and abroad, with renowned conductors Christopher Hogwood, Helmuth Rilling, Martin Pearlman, Bruce Hangen, Julian Wachner, Gerhardt Zimmermann, and Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops Orchestra. Jean made her Carnegie Hall debut with the Masterwork Chorus, and her Lincoln Center debut at Avery Fisher Hall with the National Chorale, in both performing Handel's Messiah. Her numerous concert performances include the Handel and Haydn Society, Boston Baroque, Carmel Bach Festival, Oregon Bach Festival, Baltimore Choral Arts Society, Nashua Symphony Orchestra, Colorado Breckenridge Music Festival, New York Bach Aria Festival, and the North Carolina Symphony. Concerts abroad include the Biellese Festival and Associazione Culturale in Italy, and The Atelier Concert Series in Paris. She has performed stage roles with Boston Baroque, New England Light Opera, Greater Buffalo Opera, Boston Classical Orchestra, and the American Repertory Theatre (ART).
Jean’s regional concerts include soloist with the Boston Pops Orchestra, Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra, Fall River Symphony Orchestra, North Shore Philharmonic Orchestra, Hillyer Festival Orchestra, Wellesley Symphony, Fall River Symphony, Rhode Island Civic Chorale and Orchestra, and American Classics. She has performed as a recitalist on many prestigious concert series including the N.Y.C. Trinity Church Concert Series, Twentieth Century Music Series at the N.Y. Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center, Martha’s Vineyard, Yale Center for British Art, and Rockport Music, where she recently performed Delvyn Case’s Lighthouse Keeper with the Arneis String Quartet in the Shalin Liu Performance Center.
Jean has ten solo albums from classical and contemporary to musical theatre with Albany Records, Newport Classic, New England Light Opera, and CDBaby. She is a featured artist on Pandora Premium and her film credits include documentaries on PBS, Lifetime, and Oregon Public Broadcasting. Jazz performances include concerts with the Rusty Scott Quartet and Bruce Hangen and the Orchestra at Indian Hill.
Jean is on Voice Faculty at Boston College, Salem State University, and New England Conservatory of Music (AE) where she also taught acting and co-directed both the Opera Workshop and Musical Theatre Workshop Courses. Luke Molloy, Music Director/Conductor/Arranger/Collaborative Pianist, is thrilled to be sharing the stage again with one of his favorite collaborators, Jean Danton, on this Broadway Cabaret at the Richardson Room.
Luke has spent the last 16 months touring North America as associate music director for productions of Bat Out of Hell: the Musical, A Christmas Story, and The Addams Family, performing in 34 U.S. states, Mexico, and Canada. He made his national tour conducting debut with The Addams Family in March 2025 at the Boch Center Wang Theatre in Boston. Luke was the music director of Jersey Boys on the Norwegian Bliss cruise ship from 2022-2023, directed by original Broadway director Des McAnuff. Other music direction credits include Grease & The Rocky Horror Show (Bucks County Playhouse, both dir. Hunter Foster), The Full Monty (Umbrella Stage Company), Anything Goes (Milton Theatre), and Jersey Boys (Cape Playhouse).
His other regional credits include Frozen, The Sound of Music, and the world premiere of My Best Friend's Wedding (Ogunquit Playhouse); Escape to Margaritaville (North Shore Music Theatre); La Cage aux Folles (Trinity Repertory Company); Sweeney Todd (Winnipesaukee Playhouse); and an apprenticeship with Theatre Aspen for productions of Gypsy (dir. Hannah Ryan) and Jersey Boys (dir. Hunter Foster).
Luke has also served as the music director for cabarets at 54 Below in New York City and the Hotel Jerome in Aspen, CO. He has music directed cabarets with Quincy’s JM Productions, including shows with Tony Award winner Lillias White, Tony nominee Liz Callaway, Seth Rudetsky, Alexa Green, and Sydney Morton. He orchestrated and conducted an hour-long concert celebrating Quincy 400 that performed last July on the Hancock-Adams Common. Luke is the music director for Sherrod Brown, a dynamic vocalist currently performing in the Broadway production of Cats: The Jellicle Ball. He is the orchestrator, arranger, and pianist for Brown’s show Stevie Wonder & More: The 70s and Beyond, premiering October 2026 with the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra.
Luke earned a B.M. in Professional Music from Berklee College of Music and will be pursuing his M.M. in Orchestral Conducting from the University of Cincinnati-College of Conservatory of Music this fall. Luke is a recipient of the David Blumberg Scholarship from the American Society of Music Arrangers and Composers.
