About this Event
In what we believe is a world first, the choir will perform a variety of works in which the numbers from one to twelve are sung, excluding the obvious Christmassy choice.
Why? Because it gives us the opportunity to perform for you some of the very most interesting and varied repertoire, from the vivid word-painting of Walton’s “The Twelve”, to the pathos and anguish of Poulenc’s “Tenebrae Factae Sunt”, from the ethereal minimalism of Dove’s “Seek Him that Maketh the Seven Stars”, to the wit and feel-good factor of Rutter’s “Sing a Song of Sixpence”.
What’s more, there will be a prize on offer for the audience member who wins our secret competition - come along to find out what we mean…
We will be joined for this concert by the celebrated organist Alexander Pott in the surroundings of St. Vedast alias Foster, an outstandingly beautiful Wren church with the ideal acoustic for intimate choral performance.
Whether you are a regular concertgoer or are trying out something new, this concert is sure to delight, intrigue and uplift in equal measure.
Wine and soft drinks will be served at the interval.
