CONCERT | Luna Llena by Compagnie Rassegna

Socle de la Compagnie Rassegna, ce programme interroge les patrimoines musicaux de la Méditerranée. En constante évolution, il se nourrit des airs qui accompagnent le quotidien des hommes et des femmes autour – et au coeur – de cette mer, en proposant toujours des interprétations neuves et inventives.

Sur scène, quatre artistes, compagnons de longue route, concentrent aujourd’hui leur répertoire autour de chants venus de Sicile, d’Espagne, de l’ouest Algérien ou d’Occitanie. Assis en arc de cercle, fidèles à la disposition séculaire des ensembles méditerranéens, ces chanteurs.ses-musicien.ne.s croisent avec complicité et expérience leurs héritages, rythmes, poèmes et mélodies, pour transposer sur scène la force et la spontanéité des réunions musicales informelles. Intemporelle, cette création a tourné partout en France et dans le monde.

As a cornerstone program of the Compagnie Rassegna, this project explores the musical heritages of the Mediterranean. Constantly evolving, it draws inspiration from the melodies that accompany the daily lives of men and women around – and within – this sea, consistently offering new and inventive interpretations.

On stage, four artists, long-time artistic companions, now focus their repertoire on songs from Sicily, Spain, Western Algeria, and Occitania. Seated in a semicircle, faithful to the centuries-old arrangement of Mediterranean ensembles, these singer-musicians skillfully and expertly blend their traditions, rhythms, poems, and melodies. This allows them to bring the power and spontaneity of informal musical gatherings to the stage. This timeless production has toured extensively throughout France and worldwide.

Sylvie Paz | Voix, percussions

Membre depuis 2011 de la Compagnie Rassegna, Sylvie puisse son inspiration dans ses origines espagnoles et oranaises et forge sa voix au regard des traditions méditerranéennes. Elle est co-auteure et compositrice du groupe Barrio Chino.

Member of Compagnie Rassegna since 2011, Sylvie draws inspiration from her Spanish and Oranese origins and has honed her vocal style through the lens of Mediterranean traditions. She is also the co-author and composer for the group Barrio Chino.

Fouad Didi | Voix, oud, violon

Né à Tlemcen, capitale algérienne de la musique arabo-andalouse, Fouad fait partie des membres historiques de la compagnie, qu’il a intégré dès 2001. Spécialiste des musiques savantes et populaires du Maghreb, il est aussi très engagé dans la transmission de son héritage musical.

Born in Tlemcen, the Algerian capital of Arab-Andalusian music, Fouad is one of the company's founding members, joining in 2001. A specialist in the classical and popular music of the Maghreb, he's also deeply committed to passing on his musical heritage.

Carine Lotta | Voix

D’origine sicilienne, Carine a intégré la Compagnie Rassegna en 2009. Elle y apporte son interprétation très personnelle du blues méditerranéen et est par ailleurs fondatrice du projet de Folk World Music L’anima Lotta (“l’âme lutte”).

Of Sicilian origin, Carine joined Compagnie Rassegna in 2009. She brings her very personal interpretation of Mediterranean blues to the group and is also the founder of the Folk World Music project L'anima Lotta ("the soul struggles").

Le groupe sera en tournée dans le réseau des Alliances Françaises du Canada (Toronto, Moncton, Montréal, Ottawa, Edmonton, Winnipeg et Vancouver). Une tournée pilotée par l'Alliance Française Toronto.

The group will be on tour across the Alliance Française network of Canada (Toronto, Halifax, Moncton, Montreal, Ottawa, Edmonton, Calgary, and Vancouver). A tour presented by Alliance Française Toronto.
