The Comprehensive Advanced Palliative Care Education (CAPCE) program combines the 'art' with the 'science' of Hospice Palliative Care (HPC). Aligning best practice standards and the Model to Guide Hospice Palliative Care, CAPCE focuses on the development and role of the nurse as an HPC resource for the inter-disciplinary team in long-term care, agencies, hospitals, and communities.
Please note: RPNs, RNs, NPs, and other advanced care clinicians wishing to take the CAPCE course are required to complete in advance, the 'Fundamentals of Hospice Palliative Care'. This is mandatory for admission to CAPCE. Limit 15 participants per class. First come first serve. Payment is non-refundable or transferable.

Time: Thursdays from 4:30pm – 8:30pm
Location: Online via Zoom (secured)

CAPCE is run over the course of 20 weeks. The components of the program include: self- directed reading and reflection, 6 e-learning modules, 3 in-person sessions (case-based learning), 8 peer to peer exchanges (learning debrief), 2 practical application assignments, and 9 individual or small group coaching sessions.
CAPCE Selection Criteria:
- a minimum of 1 year hospice palliative care nursing experience,
- access to an internet-enabled computer,
- knowledge of basic computer programs,
- and have completed the Fundamentals of Hospice Palliative Care Program & emailed certificate proof to [email protected]
Reminder: To take the CAPCE , clinicians are required to complete, in advance, the 'Fundamentals of Hospice Palliative Care'. This is mandatory for admission to CAPCE. Payment is non-refundable or transferable.
