Flordeliza Dayrit (Director & Co-writer)
Flordeliza Dayrit is the Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer at Milo Productions Inc., an international media company dedicated to producing culturally rich, globally engaging entertainment for young audiences. A visionary Filipino-Canadian storyteller, she is committed to telling meaningful stories that highlight under-represented cultures, and diverse histories, for kids and families.
Flordeliza is recognized as a Netflix Diversity of Voices Fellow, a Banff Sparks Recipient for Women in Media, and has been named one of the world’s most influential Muslims by The Muslim 500. Her creative work blends cultural depth with adventure-driven storytelling, inspiring young audiences to see themselves in global narratives.
Flordeliza is the director and co-writer of Time Hoppers: The Silk Road, a 3D animated feature that marked a breakthrough for culturally driven children’s content in mainstream cinema. Flordeliza received the award for Best Director at both the Vancouver Women Film Festival and the Vancouver Indie Film Festival.
Dr. Fatima Coovadia (Consultant)
Fatima Coovadia believes that every individual deserves a voice. As the owner of Coovadia Consulting Fatima provides educational opportunities to individuals and organizations exploring race, identity and social cohesion. She is a proud community builder who values family and friendship.
Coovadia is a former Commissioner with the Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission and sits on the board of United Way Saskatoon and Area and the Saskatoon Public Schools Foundation. She is a proud mom of 3, loves travelling, learning about other cultures and enjoying exotic cuisines!
Threads of Asia is a community organization connecting the mosaic of Asian communities in Saskatoon. This Community Screening, presented in partnership with Remai Modern and the City of Saskatoon, is free and open to the public and will feature a post-film discussion with some of the films collaborators and community members following the film.
