About this Event
Please join us for Written In: Our Stories, Our Schools, Our Movement — a community mixer and conversation celebrating the progress of legislation to support comprehensive and inclusive history education in Washington’s K–12 classrooms, and recommitting to the work ahead. Together, we envision a future where every Washington student feels seen, valued, and written in.
Enjoy light reception bites and boba while hearing from keynote speaker Senator T'wina Nobles, prime sponsor of SB 5574, along with a community panel discussion, performances, and prizes!
Our panel will feature the following community leaders:
- Lua Pritchard, Executive Director of the Asia Pacific Cultural Center and Chair of Asian Pacific Islander Coalition of Pierce County
- William Jackson, Executive Director of Teaching and Learning at Bellevue School District
- Scarlett Luo, Make Us Visible Washington Student Advocate
- Janice Zahn, Washington State Representative, 41st Legislative District
