About this Event
Calling all Kona Palisades residents!
Join us on April 2nd to learn how you can take part in a FREE green waste removal effort—helping protect your home and community from wildfire while reducing the spread of the invasive coconut rhinoceros beetle (CRB).
As part of this special effort, residents are encouraged to “get it to the curb” by placing green waste in accessible locations for pickup by the Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation in early May.
Removing these piles helps reduce wildfire risk and eliminates prime breeding habitat for CRB. This is a simple, impactful way to make a difference in your neighborhood—come learn how to participate in this program.
Brought to you by BIISC in collaboration with the Hawaiʻi Wildfire Management Organization, the Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation, and the Hawaiʻi Fire Department.
