Ground yourself in the comforting surroundings of the Helen Duncan room of the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle Centre.
It is commonly said that meditation helps on a basic, physical level. In fact, there are screeds of quantitative research to support this. Things such as improving sleep patterns, boosting our immune functions, lowering anxiety and generally helping people to feel better. For all the doubting folk, there is scientific research and evidence to support this. But, my advice is to feel it and *feel* the benefits first hand. Anything written, even this text, does not come close.
Through meditation we give ourselves time and the space to get to know us without a maelstrom of noise. And in the knowing, what we find is our strength and vulnerability, centredness, balance and resilience to deal with whatever this life has to offer.
Led by experienced therapeutic practitioner Susan Lancaster, community meditation can be a helpful way to access the stillness that exists deep within yourself. We are offering a “pay what you can” system for all who attend. These sessions are judgement free zones and all are welcome as long as they respect those around them.
