Come and gather in community for a heart-warming evening of kirtan, where music and mantra chanted weave together in a sacred space of connection; within and without. Kirtan, or devotional chanting of mantra, is one of the primary practices of Bhakti Yoga - the Yoga of devotion.
With roots in the Vedic tradition in India, Kirtan is a particular style of devotional chanting involving repetitious chanting of Vedic mantra - which are some of the oldest sacred texts in the world (around 1500 BC).
One does not need to know these texts in order to participate in kirtan or to feel the profoundly powerful effects of chanting. Traditionally a call and response, you will be lovingly guided along your journey with copies of the mantras to sing as you desire. Let your voice merge into the mantra, or simply soak in the vibrations.
Samantha from YogaoftheHeart invites you to share an open mind, voice and heart, and contribute to the collective experience of mantra meditation.
What to Expect:
Mantras hold the power to uplift, heal, and transform. This is an opportunity to:

• Cultivate inner stillness through sacred sound
• Share in a heartfelt space of community and devotion.
Community Kirtan may simply be a fun night of singing and connecting with friends, or a profoundly moving, enlivening and joyous experience of experiencing your natural state - which is Yoga (union)
No Experience Needed: please know Community Kirtan is not a musical performance but rather, an act of devotion through vocal expression. Whether you love to sing or prefer to listen, you are welcome.
