Join us for a special evening of film, music and good people as we screen reload, followed by a Q&A with writer/director Dalila McFarlane Martin.
reload follows Dee, an up-and-coming DJ who struggles to balance her survival job as a cleaner with caring for her Grandma, all while pursuing her dream to DJ. When an opportunity to play a set comes up, Dee risks her responsibilities to follow her passion. After facing casual sexism, she plays her set and smashes it. But something goes wrong. In the aftermath, Dee must decide: will she let life’s challenges define her or find the courage to choose herself?
After the Q&A, we’ll keep the energy going with a live DJ set and relaxed networking. Expect good tunes, great conversations and a room full of creatives, filmmakers, music heads and curious minds. In-house drinks will be flowing throughout the night.
