About this Event
With the dismantling of USAID, the government just cut funding for lifesaving HIV services in some of the world’s most vulnerable communities — because apparently in 2025, that’s a thing we do now. Millions of people across Africa and beyond have been left without access to treatment, testing, or even basic support, all because the current Administration decided that compassion (and having the rest of the world not hate us) doesn’t poll well.
Grassroots Comedy has seen enough. We’re responding the only way we know how: with laughter and action. Join us for the Comedy Show for the Lives USAID Can't Save Anymore, a hilarious night of stand-up benefitting — a rapid-response fundraiser supporting frontline HIV programs left stranded by U.S. funding cuts started by former USAID employees. These programs provided HIV prevention and treatment for families and communities, adolescent and key population HIV services, orphan and vulnerable children support for millions across the globe. Now they’re fighting to survive. The need is real. The punchlines are sharp.
We’re bringing together a powerhouse lineup of comedians (lineup TBA!) who not only know how to bring the funny, but care deeply about global equity, health, and basic human dignity. It’s a night for folks who like their humanitarian work with a side of sarcasm and a mic drop. No guilt trips, just gut laughs — and a chance to actually do something good.
Come for the comedy, stay for the cause. Because if the Administration won’t fund lifesaving care, then we’ll fund it with ticket sales and killer jokes. Help us turn outrage into outreach — and show the world that even when leadership fails, community steps up. Let’s go.
