About this Event
To mark Refugee Week this double event, organised by the University of Westminster in partnership with Counterpoints Arts, offers an opportunity to explore the power of comedy in contexts of displacement and injustice. You will attend a stand-up comedy show by the comedy collective, which has been running since 2019 to support emerging comedians from refugee and migrant backgrounds.
The performance will be followed by a screening of the acclaimed documentary , which follows six stand-up comedians from across Palestine as they tour and explore dark humour in the context of life under occupation.
The evening will conclude with a Q&A featuring Comedy Director Dr Sam Beale, film producer Charlotte Knowles, Dr Atef Alshear (University of Westminster) and No Direction Home members. The event will be moderated by Dr Federica Mazzara (University of Westminster).
