In an engaging afternoon of music-making, we will explore five contrasting works that trace the evolution of American choral style across the 20th century:

Weβre delighted to welcome Graham Ross to lead this workshop. A highly sought-after conductor and composer, he is co-founder and Principal Conductor of The Dmitri Ensemble, and Director of Music and Fellow of Clare College, Cambridge. His recent collaborations include the London Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Singers and BBC Concert Orchestra, and in 2025 he directed the Danish National Vocal Ensemble at the BBC Proms. Graham brings particular expertise in American choral music, and his 2024 album Rolling River received widespread critical acclaim.
Whether youβre a seasoned singer or simply love the thrill of making music with others, youβll find plenty to enjoy. So join Petros Singers in Hammersmith on Saturday 7th February for what promises to be an energising and thoroughly enjoyable afternoon. We will end the workshop with an informal performance of the works we have learnt β friends and family are welcome to come and listen.
