About this Event
Have you ever wondered how it feels to play a cathedral organ? Well this is your opportunity to hear and play one of the country's most incredible musical instruments. This session is designed for young people who have an interest in trying out our wonderful and renowned cathedral organ but do not have prior experience learning. Though it might be helpful if you have some previous experience on the piano or organ, it is not essential - you just need to be enthusiatic about the organ!
The afternoon starts with a demonstration recital of organ favourites by our Cathedral Assistant Director of Music, Liam Condon, followed by a short talk about the Cathedral organ. Liam will then invite you to come and play the cathedral organ under his guidance. Do also bring any questions you might have about the instrument!
12:30 - arrive to hear a lunchtime recital of organ favourites, played by Assistant Director of Music, Liam Condon.
13:15 - A short introduction to the Coventry Cathedral Organ
13:30 - Opportunity for young organists to try playing the organ.
These workshops are provided free of charge, but we would like to encourage parents to donate towards the Cathedral organ restoration fund. Help us to protect our wonderful organ by donating through this link:
