About this Event
‘This exhibition marks Amber Lily’s first solo show and brings together work created over the past few years, charting the development of her practice through colour, shape, and stitch.
The collection features quilts, wall pieces, and collages made using dyed fabrics, print, embroidery, and recycled materials.
Working with botanical and abstract forms, Amber draws inspiration from everyday surfaces and overlooked details such as graffiti, scuffed pavements, litter, and urban plants. These references are translated into layered compositions using collage, free-motion embroidery, and print, blending traditional textile processes with contemporary approaches.
Sustainability is central to her practice. Many works are made using repurposed materials including discarded clothing, scrap fabrics, plastic packaging, and domestic textiles. These materials introduce texture and history while supporting a low-waste way of working.
This exhibition brings together a significant body of work from a key period in Amber’s practice. As she begins a new phase of making, these pieces form a moment of reflection and transition - a chance to experience this collection together before it evolves into what comes’.
