MODERATOR
Carter Freeman, Vice President of Western Region, vcfo, has led vcfo’s practice for Colorado and the western United Sates for the past 10 years. Carter has extensive experience in finance and accounting, especially with emerging companies, including capital formation, M&A, and financial management and operations.

PANELIST
Brig. Gen. D. Micah Fesler, Assistant Adjutant General of Colorado for Air, commands the Colorado Air National Guard at Buckley Space Force Base. He ensures mission readiness of over 1,700 personnel, advises on national defense, and has flown combat missions in the F-15C and F-22A over Iraq and Syria.

PANELIST
Thomas Cavett leads Federal business development at Tomorrow.io and is a Venture Partner at New Vista Capital, where he focuses on early-stage, aerospace and defense investing. He previously worked as a strategy consultant with McKinsey & Company, advising public and private sector clients across a variety of industries. Thomas also served as a U.S. Army Green Beret and holds an MBA from the Wharton School and a Masters in International Studies from the Lauder Institute.

PANELIST
Nicholas Severn has held several leadership and legal positions in Colorado's government, with a focus on finance, real estate, contracts, and law. He currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer for the Colorado Department of Military and Veterans Affairs. Prior to this, he was the Purchasing and Contracts Director for DMVA from September 2020 to August 2023. His experience in state government also includes roles at the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy & Financing and the Colorado Department of Personnel and Administration, where he worked as a Purchasing and Contracts Manager and Central Contracts Specialist. From December 2010 to December 2016, Nicholas was a Deputy State Public Defender in Colorado Springs. Beyond his professional work, Nicholas is also involved in non-profit organizations. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Denver Asset Building Coalition since August 2018 and was a board member for the First Judicial District Community Corrections Board from July 2021 to December 2024.

PANELIST
Patrick Brady is Managing Director in the Savills Denver/Boulder offices, advising companies through every stage of the real estate life cycle, from initial planning to final implementation. Patrick’s team specializes in tenant and buyer/seller representation, a service dedicated to advocating for occupiers of office, lab, manufacturing, and R&D occupants, with a strong focus in aerospace and DOD. As an occupant only advisor, his work is exclusive to the client’s business objectives, ensuring every real estate decision supports growth, efficiency, and cost savings. Patrick has overseen 350+ lease and acquisition projects across 25 markets, both domestic and abroad, valued at over $1B. Prior to joining Savills, Patrick was an executive at consulting startup and worked as an adjunct lecturer at Indiana University. Outside of work he enjoys the outdoors with his wife and daughters.
