Join us for a captivating afternoon with Leonard Krawchuk, a lifelong Canadian collector of Ukrainian art and cultural objects, as he shares heartfelt stories from decades of preserving Ukraine’s rich cultural heritage. Discover how his remarkable collection began, and hear firsthand how he navigated Soviet-era restrictions to visit remote Ukrainian villages and uncover their hidden histories.
Leonard will also discuss the deeply personal decision to donate his collection to the Ukrainian Museum of Canada, Ontario Branch in Toronto, ensuring these treasures continue to educate and inspire future generations.
This special talk is part of the programming for our current exhibition, Kosiv Bazaar: A Living Archive of the Carpathians, and offers a rare opportunity to explore the art and stories behind these cultural objects. Attendees are encouraged to bring their questions!
