About this Event
Learn the process of making a zine! We will explore the process of creating single sheet 8-page zine templates, half-letter/A5 stapled zines, and start filling the pages with collage material. Any level of experience is welcome and beginners are encouraged!
Workshops are recommended for people ages 12 and over. Children under 12 years old are welcome with parent/guardian supervision. Please get a ticket for each person (incl. all children).
The workshop is admission by donation! Suggested $20 - $30 to support facilitator fees and supplies.

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR:
Kiera is a zine maker, writer and researcher. Making zines is deeply integral to her process as a writer and researcher. She founded Calgary Zine Club, and co-founded High Queerdness Lending Library and loves sharing her passion for zines!

Alcove Centre for the Arts (alcoveartscentre.ca) is a non-profit organization based in Calgary, AB which aims to make art more accessible and promote a vibrant local arts industry. We curate and cultivate community art spaces for Calgarians to engage in art and creativity while building a platform for emerging local artists.
Alcove is a Recreational Art Space open to the public providing free art supplies and instruments to stimulate creativity. The space also acts as a gathering place for workshops, community events, and social meetups. Come visit and get creative!
