About this Event
Local artist Dey Rivers welcomes you to create collages with mixed materials over watercolor backgrounds at this family workshop! You'll get to play with perspective, surrealism and imagined worlds as Dey shares their own watercolor paintings and a demonstrates collage techniques.
Déy Rivers is an agender, non-binary Black person living on stolen land, navigating mental health challenges, playing in fictional worlds and poetry, visual work and collective dreaming. Their artistic practices are in conversation with the past and present to imagine futures.
Free Family Mornings is an ongoing series: on select Saturdays from 11am - noon bring the whole family for free museum admission and a hands-on, all-ages workshop led by local artists.
Free Family Mornings events are held in our community room, and space is limited to 40. For that reason we require registration, but if space is still available you are welcome to register right up until the time of the event (we know how it is trying to plan ahead with the whole crew!)
All kids under 15 must be accompanied by an adult to ensure safe, creative fun for everyone. Art activities are aimed at around kindergarten level and up with adult support, but wee ones are welcome to tag along too. Feel free to reach out to [email protected] for any access questions or requests.
