About this Event
Nominated for Georgia Author of the Year for her debut novel, War Bonds, Atlanta author Pamela Norsworthy will be in conversation with Raven Wilson to explore themes in her latest novel, The Florentine Entanglement.
Set against the high-stakes tension of the Cold War, the novel follows CIA agent Talbot Bentley and a top-secret U-2 spy plane mission deep behind the Iron Curtain. When the mission goes wrong, his life, career and marriage unravel. But the culprit in all this is not exactly clear.
What unfolds is more than a political thriller. It’s a layered story of espionage, identity, and the quiet, powerful forces shaping history behind the scenes. Readers have said, “watch the women” in this story.
Together, moderator Raven Wilson and Pamela will dive into the real historical events that inspired the story, the tensions of the era, and the deeper questions at the heart of the novel:
- What does it mean to serve your country?
- Does it require absolute sacrifice?
- How much can a marriage endure through tensions of secrecy, commitment, and duty?
