About this Event
Coffee 101 invites participants to stop judging coffee as “good” or “bad.”
Instead, coffee is approached the way one might approach music or perfume, through layers, textures, and sensations. If coffee were a language, most people only know the words like and dislike. This workshop expands the vocabulary.
Throughout the session, coffee’s global journey is briefly touched on, but never dominates the experience. The real focus is sensory awareness. What matters is not only where the bean comes from, but how it speaks once it reaches the cup.
Participants will experience:
• How the feeling of drinking coffee shifts when attention is directed to aroma and mouthfeel.
• How the atmosphere of a café changes as different beans are ground, almost like changing the soundtrack of a room.
• How smells evolve over time in the same space, subtle yet unmistakable once noticed.
• How roasting and brewing act like lenses, sharpening or blurring a coffee’s character.
After this, coffee stops being a background habit and quietly rewires how coffee is perceived. Each sip becomes an experience, in coffee shops, at cupping sessions, or when making coffee for friends. 👃☕️ Once that shift happens, there’s no going back.
