About this Event
Review changes from the last edition to the current edition of the International Building Code. The background behind many of the changes will be discussed to provide participants with an understanding of the intent of the changes and how to apply it to their everyday work. Subjects covered in the class will include the code change process, mixed occupancies, atriums, accessible means of egress, and more.
This full-day program includes lunch.

Steve Thomas has more than 40 years of experience in the building and safety industry. From quality control to inspector, plans examiner, and building official, he has done it all. Through his experiences, he was able to develop his own successful consulting company where he has been since 1999. Thomas is also an instructor for many courses including: The Community College of Denver, Lakewood Colorado – Intro. to Building Codes; International Code Council Contract, Colorado Chapter ICC Educational Institute, Denver, CO; Southern Nevada Chapter ICC EduCode, Las Vegas, NV; Washington Association of Building Officials, Olympia, WA; Arizona Building Officials, Tucson, AZ; Oregon Building Officials Association, Eugene, OR; Utah Chapter ICC, Sandy, UT; and St. George UT.
